For this project we had to make a remix of the sounds we recorded prior. We had to find and record sounds and also draw them. I arranged these drawings into a graphical score and used that as my starting point for the composition.
After that I turned this composition into a remix by using things like a drum rack, adding binaural panning and using automation.
This is the graphical score I made which I later used to arrange my sounds in Ableton.
Reflection
The way of working by starting with a drawing of my composition was definitely an interesting approach, but in the end I feel like it only hindered me because I felt like I had to create my composition exactly like my graphical score, even if I came up with other ideas while working on it in Ableton. That is fine because its all part of the exercize, and I learned a new way of creating.
I'm also very happy to have learned about binaural panning, this is something I was already fascinated with and it was something I was eager to learn and use in an actual project.
